Rattan Chand & Sons

Rattan Chand & Sons has been operating for a long time. My father was the one who started all this, and now we continue the work at Plot No. 12/A in Subhash Nagar. We are tucked away near the Shiv Temple. You can hear the sounds of the prayers in the evenings when we are finishing up our work for the day. The building is made of old brick and stays quite cool even when the sun is very hot outside. We still keep a lot of old ledger books and paper files on the shelves, even though we use computers for most things now. It just feels right to have them there. The neighbors in Subhash Nagar are mostly good people who have been here as long as we have. When it rains heavily, the street out front tends to flood, so we have to be quick with the sandbags at the door. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes, but we are used to it. My son comes in on his days off from school to help out and learn how things are done. We are not a big company with many employees, just a few of us who have worked together for many years. We take a break for tea at four o'clock every day to sit and talk. It is a family business and we just want to keep it going.
