If you are driving along the Delhi Bye Pass Road, you might see our place. It is a good spot because there is always traffic and people looking for a break from the heat. We have several large freezers humming in the back all day and night to keep the ice cream cold. The noise of the trucks going past is something you just get used to after a few weeks of working here. Inside, it is usually much cooler than it is outside on the asphalt. We spend a lot of time checking the temperatures and making sure the lids are closed tight. It isn't a fancy parlor with neon lights, just a solid building where we make and sell our products. In the evenings, families often stop by when they are traveling back home. We have some basic benches where people can sit for a few minutes. Sometimes we run out of a certain flavor and have to tell people to wait until the next batch is ready. That is just how it goes sometimes. The floor needs mopping constantly because of the melting drips and the dust from the road. We do our own cleaning and look after the machinery ourselves mostly. It is a lot of work, especially in the summer months when nobody wants to be outside. We just keep the lights on and the freezers running through the night.
