Gautam Engineering Co.

Being out here on the Bypass Road means we get a lot of wind and dust, especially when the big trucks go flying past Gautam Engineering Co. We are situated right by Sainik Colony, which is a bit quieter than the main road, but not by much. The workshop is mostly metal and concrete, and it gets quite loud when the machines are running. We do a lot of small engineering jobs, things that people bring in because they can't fix it themselves. It might be a broken part from a machine or something they need welded together. There’s always a faint smell of burnt metal and oil in the air. We keep a few old benches for working on, and they’ve been scarred by years of use. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where we get things done. The coffee guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break and sit near the entrance. You can see the traffic backed up on the bypass during the evenings, which is usually when we start packing things up for the day. Our neighbors in the colony sometimes drop by just to chat or ask for a quick favor with a tool. It’s a decent neighborhood to work in, even if the road noise never really stops. We don’t bother with much decoration, just the tools we need and the projects we’re currently handling for people. It is a simple, dusty way to spend the day.
