Being right at Kewal Ganj Chowk means there is never a quiet moment. Aa Bhatnagar Pharma is located right where all the traffic meets. We see everything from our front window. The shop is filled with that specific smell of medicine and clean paper. We spend a lot of our time organizing the shelves and making sure the labels are facing the right way. It’s a lot of manual work, checking boxes and writing out receipts. We have an old ceiling fan that clicks every time it goes around. Most of the people who come in are our neighbors or people who have been coming to this chowk for years. We know their names and what they usually need. It's not a fancy place with bright neon signs. We just have our wooden counter and a few chairs for people who need to rest their legs. Sometimes the rain floods the street a bit and we have to watch the doorstep. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. We open early in the morning when the milk trucks are still going by and we stay until the sun goes down. It's a steady life and we're just part of the daily rhythm of this little corner of the city. The shelves are a bit crowded and we don't really have a big sign outside.
