Sumrat Bhumi Producer Company Limited is based out here in Robertsganj, specifically at H. No. 06 in Saranga. It's a quiet area mostly, with a lot of folks just working the land day in and day out. We started this group because the farmers around Saranga and Ghorawal needed a way to handle their crops better together rather than everyone just doing their own thing and struggling. The soil here is what we know, and honestly, that’s where most of our time goes. We spend a lot of our days just talking to neighbors or checking on what’s growing in the fields nearby. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that, just a regular house where we keep our papers and meet up. Most of the people involved are just local families who have been in Sonebhadra for generations. We deal with the usual problems like the weather being unpredictable or the costs of things going up all the time. Sometimes the rains are good and sometimes they aren't, which makes the work hard but that's just how it is. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just looking to make sure the people in our little corner of Robertsganj can get a fair shake for the hard work they put into the ground. It’s a lot of manual labor and paperwork that never seems to end, but we keep at it because it’s what we know how to do.
