Roopkund Paryatan Vikas Samiti

Our office is on Railway Road in Rishikesh, 249409. We are very close to the Railway Station, right by the Chela Setram Vishram Grah. It is a very busy part of town because of all the trains coming in and out. Roopkund Paryatan Vikas Samiti is the name on our door. We are more of a local society or group than a big corporation. Most of our days are spent sitting at the desks, handling papers and talking about tourism in the region. Because we are so close to the station, we get a lot of people wandering in right after they get off the train. They are usually looking for directions or advice. The building we are in has a lot of history and you can feel it in the walls. It’s not a modern glass building. It’s more traditional and maybe a bit worn down in places. We don't mind. It feels like a real part of Rishikesh. Railway Road is always loud with the sounds of rickshaws and vendors. Sometimes it is hard to hear each other talk when a train whistles nearby. Chela Setram Vishram Grah is a good landmark for us. We have our meetings there sometimes. It’s just a group of us trying to keep things moving for the local tourism scene. We don't have any fancy brochures, just our knowledge and this small office near the tracks.
