If you head over to Bodarwar, you’ll find us at Rishikesh Shukla’s place. Kushinagar Agro isn't a big operation with a lobby or anything. It’s just a few rooms where we keep our records and meet with the local farmers. Kushinagar is a place with a lot of history, but for us, it’s just where we live and work every day. We started this producer company because the local guys needed a way to organize things better. We aren't businessmen in suits; we are more likely to be seen in dusty boots. The building isn't much to look at, and the road to get here can be a bit bumpy after the rain. We spend our mornings talking to folks about their harvests and what they need for the next season. It’s a lot of listening. Sometimes we sit under the tree outside when it gets too hot in the office. There’s always someone stopping by for water or just to chat. We don't have any big goals of taking over the market. We just want to make sure the people in Bodarwar get a fair deal. It’s a slow process and some days are better than others. We make mistakes sometimes, like forgetting to file a paper on time, but we always fix it. It’s a very local, hands-on kind of thing we have going here.
