Our studio is at 10/48 Chandreshwar Nagar on Dayanand Marg. Being so close to the Himalayan Hospital means there is always a lot of activity outside. It is a small place, mostly just one room with a few backdrops and some lights that have been around for years. We take a lot of passport photos because people always need them for their medical forms or school papers. Sometimes a family comes in for a group picture, and the children usually won't sit still for more than a second. We just wait and try again. The computer we use for the editing is a bit slow, so we spend a lot of time waiting for things to save. We have a few stools for people to sit on while they wait for their prints. The floor is old tile and it is hard to keep it clean with people walking in from the street all day. Dayanand Marg is a noisy road with plenty of horns and shouting. We have been here long enough that we don't really notice the noise anymore. We don't have any fancy equipment, just the stuff that works for what we do. We take the photos, print them out, and put them in those little paper envelopes. Sometimes the printer gives us trouble, but we manage to get it sorted. It is just a normal, busy photography shop in town.
