If you are looking for us, we are down by Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. It is a beautiful place to be, right by the water. Our shop is just across from the Police Chowki. It’s a small place, but we handle a lot of flowers every single day. The morning starts very early for us because that’s when the fresh stock comes in. You can smell the roses and marigolds from the street. Rishikesh is a spiritual place, so flowers are always in demand for the pujas and the ghat ceremonies. We have been here for years, right in the middle of all the activity. It gets very busy during the evening aarti, so we have to be quick. The shop is simple, with buckets of water everywhere to keep the stems fresh. We get wet floors all the time, but that is part of the job. Sometimes the tourists stop by just to take photos of the colors. We don't mind. We also do decorations for weddings and local functions. Living and working near Triveni Ghat is nice because you feel the river breeze. The police guys at the chowki are our neighbors and they say hello every morning. It is a small life, but we like being surrounded by nature’s colors. We aren't a big corporation, just a local flower shop doing our job and selling flowers to anyone who stops by for their rituals or celebrations.
