Our office is out in Khandora, which is a village in the Bawal tehsil of Rewari district. It’s a quiet place compared to the big cities, but we stay busy. Since we are a placement service, we have a lot of young people from the nearby villages coming in to ask about jobs in the factories or offices around Haryana. It’s mostly just a few desks, a computer that sometimes runs slow, and a lot of registers where we write down names and phone numbers. The air is a bit cleaner out here in Khandora than in Gurgaon or Delhi. We usually open up early because that’s when people start moving around the village. It can get a bit lonely when nobody’s visiting, but then we’ll have five people walk in at once and it gets loud. We don't have any fancy posters or anything, just the basic stuff we need to help people find work. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy, so we have to wait to upload resumes or check emails. Most of the people around here know who we are and where to find us when they need help with job searches. It’s a modest place, just a room really, but it’s where we do our bit to get people connected to work and it's our daily home.
