Sumer Band

Sumer Band is located in the Rao Sunder Lal Market, specifically at 3070/23. We’re up on the first floor. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the Everest Cinema Hall and the Bharawas area. It’s a lively part of town, always something happening outside. Our space is where we keep the instruments, uniforms, and all the gear we need for events. It’s not a quiet office, that’s for sure. There’s usually someone practicing or we’re checking the sound equipment. We’ve been part of weddings and celebrations for a long time. People around here know us from the market. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, so hauling the big drums up and down is always a bit of a workout. We don’t have a website with a bunch of fancy photos, we mostly just deal with people who walk in or call us because they heard us play somewhere else. The market is a bit old-fashioned, but it’s home for us. We just enjoy the music and making sure we put on a good show for the families that hire us. It’s a lot of hard work, especially during the peak wedding season when we barely get any sleep. But we like what we do and we keep at it. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, but we try to keep the rehearsals to the daytime hours. It is a good life for a musician in this city.
