You can find us at the 82 No. Mile Stone on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, specifically in the village of Khijoori. If you’ve driven down NH-8, you’ve probably passed by us without even realizing it. We’ve been at this location for a long time, watching the cars and trucks go by all day and night. It’s a bit of a different lifestyle being out on the highway. We get all kinds of people stopping in—families on road trips, truckers who need a break, and folks just passing through. The highway is always noisy, so we’ve gotten used to the constant sound of engines. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a few of us here making sure the place is open and ready. Some days the weather is really dusty, and we spend half the time just cleaning the windows and the porch. It’s a lot of work maintaining a spot like this out in Khijoori. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just provide a place to stop for a bit. We have our regulars who know the mile markers by heart and stop every time they drive past. It’s a bit isolated compared to being in the middle of a big city, but we like the pace. Every day is different because you never know who’s going to pull off the road. We just keep the lights on and keep things moving. It’s a straightforward way to live and work out here.
