Kohli Traders

We are right here on the road by the Gol Park bus stand. It’s a busy spot, always people getting off buses and looking for things. We’ve been running this shop for a good while now. It’s not a fancy place, just shelves full of whatever people usually need in a hurry. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We carry a mix of things, mostly stuff for the house or small bits and pieces you might have forgotten to buy in the city. My brother and I take turns behind the counter. Most mornings start with a cup of tea from the stall next door while we wait for the first bus to pull in. The fans hum all day because it gets quite hot in the afternoons. We don't really have a big staff, just us and sometimes a cousin who helps out when it gets really crowded. Customers know us by name and we know most of them too. If someone needs something we don't have, we try to get it by the next week. It’s a simple way to make a living, really. There’s always someone coming in with a story or just complaining about the heat. We listen and keep the line moving. It's just a regular local business, nothing more than that. Kohli Traders has been part of this street for years and we just keep doing our thing every day.
