We’ve been here at Po Chorhata for a while now. It’s a busy spot. Birla Cable Limited is just where we spend most of our daylight hours. The road outside gets a bit noisy with the trucks going past, but you get used to it after a few days. Sometimes the rain makes the ground soft near the entrance, and we have to be careful where we park the bikes. Inside, it’s mostly just us doing what needs doing with the cables and the machinery. It isn’t fancy at all. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever found the time, but the work comes first. There’s a tea stall not too far down that we visit when things get slow or when the afternoon heat starts to feel like too much. You see the same faces every morning. We know the local rhythms, like when the post arrives or when the shifts change. It’s just a place of work, really. No big speeches or anything like that. We just show up at Po Chorhata, get the machines going, and try to keep things moving along. Some days are longer than others, especially when there’s a lot to load up on the trucks. But that’s how it goes. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, though our corner stays pretty much the same. It's just us, the cables, and the daily routine here.
