The Duncan Hospital

The Duncan Hospital is located out in East Champaran. It’s a place that has been serving this community for a long time. We aren't a big, shiny city hospital with glass walls. We are a practical facility tucked away in this part of the country. Life at the hospital is busy but follows a certain local rhythm. We see people coming in from all the surrounding villages and towns. Some travel quite a distance to get here. The grounds are usually filled with families waiting under the trees or in the corridors. We do our best to manage the flow of patients with the resources we have. It’s a lot of hard work for the nurses and doctors, but they just get on with it. There isn't any fancy marketing or polished mission statements hanging on the walls. We just focus on the medical needs of the people in East Champaran. The building shows its age in some places, but it’s sturdy and does its job. Every morning starts early with rounds, and the day doesn't really end until late. We see everything from minor injuries to more serious cases. It’s an essential part of the community here. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a hospital in the middle of East Champaran, helping our neighbors as best as we can. It is just plain and simple work for the people here.
