Suhani Traders

Suhani Traders sits right there on the Main Road Chowk in Champaran. We are in Chal Bazar, and if you are looking for us, we are right opposite Meet Corner. That’s usually how people find us, by looking for the food place across the way. Bihar is hot in the summer, and the chowk gets very dusty with all the bikes and carts passing through. Our shop is simple. We have the stock piled up inside, and there isn't much room for anything else. We don't have a big sign with lights or anything. Just the name and the door. Every morning we sweep the front because the road dirt always finds its way in. It’s a lot of manual work, moving bags and checking the inventory. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. The neighbors at the other shops are all friends, so we spend time talking while we wait for customers. It isn't a fancy setup. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks in it. We don't mind. It’s been this way for a while. We handle the trading side of things and try to keep our records straight in these big old ledgers. It’s just a regular life in a busy part of town. We are here from early morning until the sun goes down and the chowk finally gets a bit quiet. It’s just how we live and work here.
