Satpath Rural Development Foundation

Our foundation is located at house number 258 in the Jagdish Society. We are in the Dhankawadi area of Pune, specifically on lane 28, plot 27. It’s a typical Pune residential society, which means it’s mostly families and quiet streets. Our building is easy to spot once you get into the lane. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who care about what we’re doing. The office is really just a couple of rooms with some basic supplies. We spend a lot of time discussing rural projects, though we are based here in the city. It’s a practical space. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans and the breeze. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog won't stop barking, but we’ve gotten used to it. People in the society know us as the group that stays late sometimes. We don't have a company culture or any of that stuff you read about in magazines. We just show up, drink our tea, and look at the paperwork. Dhankawadi is a good spot for us because it’s not as expensive as the center of Pune but still reachable. We like the local feel of the society. It keeps us grounded. There’s no pressure to look professional for anyone. We just wear our regular clothes and do the work that needs doing. It’s a simple life for us here, just tackling one task after another.
