Our place is out in Tulshi, which is part of the Mandangad taluka in Ratnagiri. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s nice and quiet. We are into brewing and making wine. The climate in this part of the Kokan region is actually quite good for it. We use a lot of local fruits and grains when we can. It’s a slow process. You can't rush fermentation. Sometimes you just have to wait and see how a batch turns out. The facility isn't some massive industrial plant. It’s more of a local operation. We have a few tanks and some bottling equipment. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we try to do the heavy lifting in the mornings. There aren't many people around Tulshi, so we mostly know everyone in the village. We started this because we liked the idea of making something here in our own town. It’s been a learning curve, for sure. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, and we have to start over. But that's part of the craft. We aren't looking to take over the world. We just want to make a good drink that people enjoy. If you ever find yourself in Mandangad, you can see where we work. It’s a humble spot but we put a lot of time into it. Just a bunch of locals making wine and beer in the hills and valleys.
