Kishor Ice Factory

This is actually a factory located at 84/201 on Undi Road, right in the Bank Colony area. It’s not like a regular shop where you sit down and eat. We spend our time making the ice and keeping the big blocks frozen. The machinery is quite loud, and there’s always water on the floor, so we have to wear heavy boots all day. We supply to a lot of the local vendors and other shops in the area. Being in Bank Colony, we try to keep the noise down at night, but during the day the compressors are humming constantly. It’s a bit of a heavy job, moving the crates and checking the water lines. We’ve been here at this address for a long time. The building is made of thick concrete to help keep the cold in. I’m usually covered in a bit of frost or dampness by the end of my shift. People sometimes stop by thinking it’s a parlor, and we have to tell them we just do the wholesale stuff mostly. It’s a different kind of business, focusing more on the production side than the serving side. We have to be very careful with the electricity because if the power goes for too long, we lose a lot of work. It’s a lot of responsibility keeping everything frozen in this climate. My boots are always wet and the gloves never really dry out properly. Kishor Ice Factory is a noisy place, but we've gotten used to it.
