Kesari Ice Cream

Over in the village of Devrukh, in the Sangmeshwar taluka of Ratnagiri, you will find Kesari Ice Cream. We are located right by the Mayatari Petrol Pump, which is a good landmark for anyone passing through the district. Being near a petrol pump means we see a lot of travelers who are just stopping for a quick break before heading back out on the road. The shop is a modest building, nothing fancy at all to look at. We have the usual freezers and a few stools if someone wants to sit down for a minute. It gets very quiet here at night once the petrol station slows down. We spend our days making sure the temperature is right and the floors are swept clean. The local kids come by after school, and we know most of them by name because it’s a small place. It is a quiet, small-town kind of life for us. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything professional. We just put out our sign and wait for people to come in when they are thirsty or hot. The weather in Ratnagiri can be quite humid, so people are always looking for something cold to eat. We do our best to keep everything running, even when the power flickers during the monsoon season. It is a simple, honest business. We don't pretend to be more than a village shop. Just some cold treats and a bit of shade for the travelers.
