Jyoti Eye Care And Research Foundation is easy to find because we are right opposite the ST Stand. It is a very busy part of town with buses coming and going all day. People often drop in for an eye checkup while they are waiting for their bus. We see a lot of older folks who need help with their vision or want to get their cataracts checked out. The noise from the bus stand is just part of our daily life here. We have different rooms for testing eyes and looking at glasses. It’s a research foundation too, so we try to keep up with how to help people see better. The staff is mostly local. We don't have a big fancy lobby. It’s just a functional space where we do eye exams and talk to patients about their sight. Sometimes it gets dusty because of the road, so we are always cleaning the glass counters. Patients come from nearby villages because the bus stops right there. It makes it easy for them. We’ve seen thousands of eyes over the years. Some people just need a new pair of spectacles, while others have more serious stuff going on. We just take it one patient at a time and try to be helpful. It’s a simple clinic in a very loud, busy location. Most of the time, the waiting room is full of people.
