Mahalaxmi Food Products

Mahalaxmi Food Products is situated in Anjanari, which is in the Lanja Taluka. It is a bit far out from the big cities, but we like it that way. The surroundings are much quieter here. We have a simple building where we handle all our work. It isn't a factory with big machines or anything like that. It’s more of a manual setup. We have tables laid out and people from the village come in to help with the daily work. There is always a lot of activity in the mornings when the raw materials arrive. We have to keep an eye on the weather because it can get very humid here, which affects everything. The building has a tin roof, so when it rains, you can't hear yourself think. We just pause and wait for the storm to pass. Our office is just a corner with a desk and a few ledgers. We don't use computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down by hand. It’s a way of working that we are used to. People around Anjanari know who we are. We don't do any advertising. The work just comes in and we get it done. It is a modest life out here. We take pride in just doing what we do every day without making a big fuss about it. We just focus on the tasks we have and making sure the quality stays okay.
