M.M. Poonjiaji Spices Ltd.

Out here on Barbad Sailana Road in Naya Gaon, things stay pretty busy. We are M.M. Poonjiaji Spices Ltd. and we have been in Ratlam for a long time now. This area is mostly quiet except for the trucks coming and going from the various units. The factory floor is where most of us spend our time. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy sacks of raw stuff around and checking the machines. Many folks from the village work here. It’s not a shiny corporate office. We have grease on our hands and dust on our clothes by the end of the shift. Ratlam is known for a few things, and we just happen to be one of the older names around this part of town. The building has been expanded a couple of times over the years to make more room. It looks a bit like a maze if you don't know your way around the halls. We keep the machines running most of the day. It gets loud. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That is just how it is. We make sure the bags are filled and the trucks are loaded before the day ends. It's a living. We have seen the road outside change from dirt to paved.
