G. A. Garments is located at Shop No. 10 inside the Al Rahmat Market. This whole area in Kanch Bazar is always packed with people and the smell of street food and old buildings. Our shop is just a small space in the middle of it all, filled with different types of clothing and materials. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two or three people come in at once. We spend a lot of our time chatting with the other shopkeepers in the market while we wait for customers. The market life is pretty loud and chaotic, but that is just how Kanch Bazar is every single day. We have to keep an eye on the stock and make sure nothing gets too dusty. Most of our day is just spent organizing the piles of clothes or hanging things up where they can be seen. It’s a humble little spot, nothing like those big malls you see in the city center. We’ve been at Shop 10 for a while now and we know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a lot of routine work, opening up early and staying until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There isn't much room for anything extra, so we just focus on the garments and the daily business of being in Al Rahmat. It’s a local market shop through and through.
