Selvifeeds

Our place, Selvifeeds, is located right near the Power House in Muthukalipatty, which is part of the Namakkal area. If you know this region, you know it’s famous for poultry and everything related to it. We are right at 3/88 -a, and it’s a spot that stays busy because of the trucks coming in and out. The air usually smells like grain and feed, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We spend most of the day weighing out bags and making sure the orders are ready for the local farmers who depend on us. It’s a lot of physical work, hauling sacks and keeping the warehouse tidy, even though dust always finds a way back in. The office is just a corner of the main building where we keep the accounts and talk to customers. Sometimes the power goes out, and everything gets quiet for a bit, but then the generator kicks in and we get back to it. It’s a straightforward business without any bells and whistles. We know the people around here by name, and they know where to find us when they need feed for their birds. We’ve been at this for years, through the hot summers and the rainy seasons, just keeping the supplies moving. It is hard work, but someone has to do it.
