About Foodies Agro – Agriculture & Farming in Rasipuram
Our place is at 11/53 Catetayar in Obuban Kurichi, which is part of the Rasipuram district. It’s a rural area, so we are surrounded by a lot of fields and open space. We work with agro products, which means our days are tied to the seasons. There is always a lot of dirt and dust around because of the nature of the work. We use some basic machinery to process what comes in from the local farms. The noise can be a bit loud when everything is running at once. We don't have a fancy office. Most of the business happens right on the loading floor or near the gate. The weather in Rasipuram can be tough, either too dry or too wet, and it affects everything we do. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. We all wear old clothes that we don't mind getting stained. It’s hard work, lifting heavy bags and making sure nothing rots in the heat. We don't have a website or anything like that. People know us through the local network of farmers and traders. We stay busy during the harvest times and things get a bit quieter in the off-season. It’s a practical life, focused on the crops and the land. We just try to do a decent job with what we have here in Obuban Kurichi. We finish up when the sun goes down.
