Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd. is situated at 25 - A in the Sipcot Industrial Complex over in Ranipet. This part of Tamil Nadu is known for its industries and we have been part of it for a long time. The complex is huge and it takes a while to drive from the main gate to our spot. We have a lot of pipes and tanks visible from the outside. It’s a hot place to work, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the metal structures. We have a lot of workers coming in and out in shifts. The office is just a place to file reports and handle the local taxes. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just process chemicals and make sure the trucks are loaded on time. The air around Ranipet always has that industrial smell to it. We have a canteen where the food is basic but it fills you up. Most of the people working here have been with us for years, so we all just get on with the job. It is a massive operation but it feels like a small community once you are inside the gates. We don't have a glossy website or anything like that. We just run the plant and keep things moving. We usually have a short meeting at the start of the day just to make sure everyone knows their tasks.
