We are over at 17, Winterpet Post in Arakkonam. The yard gets busy pretty early most mornings. It is usually just about getting the trucks loaded and making sure the inventory counts are right before the sun gets too high. It is a lot of physical work handling the building materials we keep here. Ramco Industries Ltd has been a fixture in this part of town for a good while. Some days the dust is everywhere and the heat gets quite bad under the tin roof, but we just keep at it. People stop by asking for specific things and we try to find what they need in the stacks of stock. It isn’t always tidy around the place. There is a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff from one corner to the other. Our crew knows the layout well enough, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We deal with different industrial products and the phone rings quite a bit with local queries from builders. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of traffic near the post office area, but that is just how things go. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning. It is just a desk, some old chairs, and a lot of paperwork that needs filing. Usually, someone is making tea in the back and the smell drifts through the warehouse. It is a straightforward operation. We just focus on the task and try to get home.
