Mc Lingam Industries

You’ll find our main operations over at S. F. No. 95-2 - A, which is right near the BHL area. It’s a bit of an industrial patch, so there are always machines running or trucks backing up somewhere nearby. At Mc Lingam Industries, we spend our days mostly on the shop floor. It is a big shed with metal roofing, so it gets quite loud when the rain hits it during the monsoon. We have a small crew of people who know their way around the equipment. Most of them live close by and walk or ride their bikes in. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come looking for us, you’ll probably find someone covered in a bit of grease or dust near the back entrance. We usually start the machines around eight in the morning. There is a lot of metalwork and heavy lifting involved in what we do. We keep a cooler of water near the door because it gets pretty thirsty out there. The workspace is organized in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. We’ve got piles of materials in the corners and tools hanging on the walls where they are easy to grab. It is a practical environment where we focus on finishing the jobs we have on the schedule. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we have to check an email or print a label.
