Jai Leathers & Traders

Jai Leathers & Traders is located over at No: 14, Sri Ram Nagar in the Thandalam area. If you know the Vellore district, you know it can get quite hot and dry out here. Our spot is pretty straightforward, tucked away in a street that isn’t too loud most of the time. We spend our days handling different types of leather and trading them with various people who come by. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks and piles of stock waiting to be moved. We have been in Thandalam for a bit now and the locals know where we are if they need to drop something off. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s a simple life here. We don’t use big fancy machines or have a lot of office politics. It’s mostly just making sure the trading goes smoothly and the leather is stored where it won't get ruined by the heat. We keep a ledger for everything, written by hand mostly. The commute isn't too bad since Sri Ram Nagar is fairly easy to reach. We usually close up early in the evening once the sun starts to go down. Most of the people working here have been with us for years, so we all know how the day is supposed to go without anyone needing to be told what to do twice.
