Dhanalakshmi Stores Perambakkam

We are located at number 5 on Hospital Road in Perambakkam, which is right near the bus stand. Being so close to the bus stand means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. It’s a convenient spot for folks who are traveling or just finished a shift at the hospital nearby. The store has a bit of everything that people in the village might need for their daily lives. We keep the shelves stocked with groceries and household items. It’s not a supermarket; it’s more of a local store where we know many of the customers by their first names. We spend a lot of time weighing out goods or bagging things up. The morning rush is usually the busiest when people are getting stuff before work. Then it quietens down in the afternoon heat before picking up again in the evening. We have some old wooden counters and the floor is a bit worn from all the feet walking over it. We don't have any fancy technology, just a ledger and a sense of where everything is kept. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually work it out because we’ve known them for years. It’s just how things are done here in Perambakkam. It’s a steady life, keeping the shop running and making sure we don't run out of the basics that everyone relies on. We just open up early and stay until the last bus comes through the stand.
