Our place is over at No. 192 F on Mudal Street in Periyar Nagar. If you know Ranipet, you know it is a big area for leather work. Derma Leather India Private Limited is tucked away in this part of town. The building is simple, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have our workspace where we deal with the leather orders. Ranipet can get really hot, so we usually have the fans going all day long. Mudal Street usually has people moving around, either bikes or small trucks carrying stuff. We aren't a big fancy company with a lobby or anything like that. It is mostly just a practical space for us to work in. We spend our time looking over materials and making sure the numbers in the books match up. The smell of leather is pretty much everywhere here, which you get used to after a couple of days. We have been in this spot for a bit, and we know the other shop owners around Periyar Nagar. It is a hardworking neighborhood. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment needs to get sorted out. It is just the way things go when you are running a business in this industry. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just come in, do the work, and go home. There is always a lot to handle with the different grades of leather we manage.
