D.S. Brick Works

Our yard is at Plot No-88 on Jawahar Lal Nehru Road. It’s a decent sized spot, though it feels smaller when we have a lot of finished bricks waiting to be picked up. D.S. Brick Works is just a place where we put in our hours and try to keep things moving. We see a lot of traffic passing by on the main road, which brings in people who are just starting on their own building projects. We don't do much in the way of fancy talk. We just show people what we have in the yard and tell them how long it will take to get more. The machines we use are old but they still get the job done if you treat them right. Every morning starts with a bit of maintenance before the sun gets too high. It gets really warm out there on Jawahar Lal Nehru Road during the summer months. We drink a lot of water and keep the shade close by. Most of the guys here have been with us for a while, so we all know the routine without having to say much. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. Usually, we just sit on a couple of chairs under the overhang when we need a break. It is a lot of physical labor, stacking and loading, but it is honest work. We take things one day at a time and try to stay organized, even when the dust starts blowing around and things get messy.
