Maruti Cement Blocks

Down on Kenpura Road in the industrial area, we have our setup for Maruti Cement Blocks. It’s a pretty straightforward operation where we spend our time making and stacking blocks. The ground is almost always grey from the cement, and there is a lot of heavy lifting involved. We’ve got the machines running for a good part of the day, so it’s never really quiet around the yard. It’s an industrial zone, so we fit right in with the other workshops and warehouses nearby. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment and get the blocks lined up to dry. The weather matters a lot to us; if it’s too wet, things slow down, and if it’s too hot, we’re all sweating through our shirts by noon. There isn't any fancy lobby or a receptionist here. If you come by, you’ll probably find us near the back or in the small office space we use for keeping our records. We use simple tools and a lot of manual labor to keep things going. It’s the kind of place where you don’t mind getting your hands dirty because that’s the only way the work gets finished. We’ve been on Kenpura Road for a while, and we’ve seen the industrial area grow bit by bit. We just keep doing what we do.
