Suraj Supermarket

We set up Suraj Supermarket at 4/54 in Patel Guda, Mangalpalle. It is a decent-sized shop for this area. We carry a wide variety of things, from plastic buckets to bags of rice. The layout is simple. We have aisles but they are narrow because we try to fit in as much as possible. People from Mangalpalle come here for their weekly shopping. We get the milk delivery every morning around six. The floors are tiled but they have some cracks from years of moving heavy crates around. We don't have any staff in uniforms. It’s just us and a couple of local guys who help with the heavy lifting. We stay open seven days a week because people always need something. The parking out front is just a dirt patch, but it fits a few bikes and a car. We have a small counter near the entrance where we sit. We don't use fancy scanners; we just know the prices of most things by heart. If we don't know, we look at the sticker. It’s a straightforward business. We don't do any advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes the stock is a bit disorganized if we’ve had a busy day, but we clean it up before we close. It’s just a place to buy your food and household stuff without any fuss or drama. That’s how we like to keep it.
