Sai Ayyappa Foot Wear Industry//Kushi Foot Wear Industry is right on the Main Road. Our shop numbers are 9, 10, and 11 at H No 4 66. It’s a good spot because everyone passes by here on their way to work or the market. We make and sell all kinds of footwear for the local people. It’s a bit of a workshop and a shop mixed into one big space. You can usually smell the rubber and glue when you walk in the door. It’s not a fancy boutique with carpets or glass cases. It’s just a place where we work with our hands and get things done. We have a lot of stock piled up in the back rooms where it’s a bit dark. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific size quickly when we are busy, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. The main road is always loud with horns and people shouting, so we have to speak up when talking to our customers. We don't have any big sales pitches or fancy marketing tactics. If the shoe fits well and the price is fair, people usually just buy it. We’ve been here for many years now. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us since they were children. It’s a family-run kind of thing and we like it that way. We aren't looking to expand into a massive chain. We just like having our shop here on the road. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of old fans running.
