Basics Computer Education

The center is right there at 3-52 on the first floor. It is very easy to find because it’s directly opposite the masjid and really close to the bus stop. In fact, you can see the bus stop from our window. It’s definitely near the bus stop, which makes it easy for students. We started Basics Computer Education because people in the neighborhood needed a place to learn the main things about using a PC. We have a few desks set up with monitors. It’s a simple space, nothing too big. Sometimes it gets a little noisy because of the traffic outside at the bus stop, but we just keep the door shut. Students come in at different times, some in the morning and some after their regular school or work. We show them how to type, how to use the internet, and how the different programs work. It is just a basic setup for learning. We don't have a big corporate team, it's just us here helping whoever walks in. The stairs can be a bit steep getting up to the first floor. We’ve been here for some time now, and most people around the masjid know us. We just want to make sure people know how to use a computer properly for their jobs or just for themselves. It’s a practical place where you sit down and just get to work on the keyboard and mouse. We stay open throughout the day to help out.
