We have been operating at Ward No. 1 on J.N Road for quite a long time now. Most of the locals know our spot because it’s situated right near the Jayadeva Cinema Hall. Dealing with different kinds of metal is what we do every single day. It gets pretty noisy and dusty around here, but that is just the nature of the work. We handle various types of scrap and metal pieces that come through our front door. Usually, it is just people from around the neighborhood stopping by with things they don't have a use for anymore. We spend a lot of our time sorting through the piles of iron and aluminum. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff around the yard with our hands and some old tools. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when the monsoon rains hit, but we try to keep the gates open as much as we can. People come in to ask for prices and we just talk it out. It is not some fancy corporate office with air conditioning. There is no reception desk or anything like that. Just a simple desk and a couple of old chairs where we sit to settle the accounts at the end of the day. The cinema hall nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us. You can see the movie posters while we are working. It is a busy part of the street.
