Running Sethu Apparel out of Madhuban Colony keeps us on our feet all day. We are located right in Katedhan, which is a busy area for this kind of work. The machines make a lot of noise from morning until we close up at night. Most of our time is spent looking at fabric and making sure the stitching is straight. We deal with a lot of different orders here in Rajendra Nagar. Sometimes the thread tangles or a needle breaks, and we have to stop everything to fix it. It is not always easy work, especially when the weather in Rangareddy gets really warm. We have piles of cut cloth everywhere and the iron is always hot. The staff here knows exactly what they are doing with the scissors. We moved into this spot at 8-7-12/7/4 a while back. It works for us because it is close to where we need to be. We don't spend money on fancy signs or anything like that. We just focus on getting the clothes finished and packed into bags. People come by to pick up their bundles and we move on to the next pile. It gets dusty with all the lint in the air, but we keep the doors open for a breeze. There are a lot of small shops around here, so it feels like a neighborhood of workers. We just do our part in the garment trade every day. There is always a lot of fabric to sort through.
