We are based out of Plot No 462 in Annapurna Colony, over in the Balapur area. Makkeinam Ruchi Karam Foods And Beverages is a long name, but we usually just call it the shop. It's where we spend most of our waking hours, honestly. The neighborhood is mostly houses, so it feels quiet until we start moving stuff around. We deal with various foods and drinks, mostly things that remind us of what we ate growing up. Balapur is growing fast, but our corner stays pretty much the same. We don’t have a fancy office. It’s more of a workspace where we get our hands dirty. The floors are concrete and there’s always a smell of spices in the air. Sometimes it’s a bit much, but you get used to it after ten minutes. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and a few ladies who handle the packaging. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth usually gets people to our door. We just focus on getting the snacks and beverages ready. It’s a lot of checking labels and making sure the jars are sealed tight. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in, but mostly we try to get home by dinner. It's just a local business trying to stay busy in a crowded city. We like it here in the colony.
