You can find us over at Plot No 136 in Sai Lok Colony, which is part of the Jammigadda area in Kapra. The workshop is basically a busy room full of tools, copper wire, and half-fixed motors. We spend most of our time hunched over electrical boards or trying to figure out why a ceiling fan stopped spinning. It is a lot of hands-on work, and our clothes usually end up with a bit of grease or dust on them by lunchtime. The neighbors know that if something electrical breaks in their house, they can just bring it over to us. We have various testing meters and screwdrivers scattered across the benches, and it might look like a mess to an outsider, but we know exactly where every tool is kept. Working in Keesara Mandal means we see a lot of different people coming through with all sorts of problems. Sometimes a part is hard to find, so we have to call around different shops to see who has it in stock. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who understand how the wiring works. The heat can get a bit much in the summer since we keep the doors open for ventilation, but we just keep working through it. It’s honest, practical work that keeps the lights on for us and for the people in the colony who rely on us.
