Family Supermarket

This supermarket is located at 8-963, Hangal Road in Hirekanagi. Even though we call it a supermarket, it still feels like a local shop where you know your neighbors. We have several aisles with metal shelves that hold everything from snacks to bathroom cleaners. The floor is made of white tiles that show every bit of dirt, so we have to mop it quite often. There is a refrigerator in the back for milk and curd that hums loudly all day long. Hirekanagi is a decent area, and the road outside stays busy with people heading towards the main town. We have plastic baskets for people to carry their items, though most just use their hands if they’re only buying a few things. The billing counter is near the front door, and there’s usually a stack of newspapers there for people to buy. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles until the generator kicks in. It’s a lot of work keeping the shelves full and checking the dates on all the packets. We don’t have any fancy marketing or big signs, just the name of the place above the entrance. It’s a practical spot for the families living nearby to get what they need without traveling too far. The days are long, but there’s always something to do. I often find myself rearranging the biscuit section when things get a bit slow in the afternoon.
