Vikky General Store

You can find Vikky General Store over at Singh More in Hatia, Ranchi. It is a small place, nestled among other shops in this busy part of town. We mostly handle general items that people need in a hurry. Maybe you ran out of matches or you need a bottle of cold water on a hot Ranchi afternoon. We keep the fridge stocked and the shelves piled high with all sorts of things. It gets a bit cramped in here when more than three people are shopping at once, but we manage just fine. Singh More is a landmark around here, so we get people from all over Hatia passing through at all hours. We aren't a big supermarket with fancy aisles and bright lights. It’s more of a reach-over-the-counter kind of place. We spend our days chatting with the rickshaw drivers and the office workers who stop by for a quick snack or some gum. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're too busy to get around to it. We focus on the basics. Dealing with the heat in the summer is probably the hardest part of the job. We just keep the fan going and keep working until the sun goes down. It’s a simple life, and we are happy to be here for the people in this neighborhood. There is no corporate mission here, just a guy selling stuff that people need for their houses every day.
