We've been here on Kanke Road for a while now. Most days it’s just the usual routine of opening up and getting things ready for whoever stops by. Ranchi has changed quite a bit lately, traffic on J. P Marg is busier than it used to be. Our place is easy to spot though. We spend a lot of time just talking to people about their vehicles or showing them what’s new in the yard. It’s not fancy. The office gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but we keep the chairs clean enough for guests. Some people come in just to ask directions, which is fine too. We have tea around four. Usually, it's just a few of us making sure everything is running okay. The cars sit out front and we try to keep them looking decent. It gets pretty cold here in the winter months, so we start a bit later sometimes when the fog is heavy. It's a decent spot to work, honestly. People from around Jharkhand know where we are. We don’t do big speeches or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families when the sun goes down. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside. That’s just how it is here in Ranchi. We aren't anything fancy but we are here every day except Sundays usually. It works for us.
