Suruchi General Store

Suruchi General Store has been sitting here on Neal Ratan Street for a good while now. Being in the Upper Bazar area of Ranchi means things are always moving around us. It’s a busy spot. We opened up because we wanted a small place where people could find their household needs without a lot of fuss. Most of our days are spent checking boxes and making sure the jars are full. We sell a bit of everything, from soaps and detergents to biscuits and packaged grains. It is not a huge supermarket, just a regular store where you can walk in and find what you need quickly. Sometimes the street gets narrow and noisy with all the traffic, but we are used to it. I handle most of the customers myself. You get to know the families living nearby when you see them every week for their oil and sugar. I try to listen to what people are asking for so I can order it for next time. It’s hard work sometimes, standing all day and moving heavy sacks, but it’s what we do. We don’t bother with big advertisements or anything. People just know we are here on the street. If you live around here, you’ve probably walked past us many times. We just keep things simple and try to stay organized so that nobody has to wait too long. It’s a decent life running a shop in Ranchi.
