Sri Kant Store

Sri Kant Store is right here at the Bus Stand in Dhurwa, which is a part of Ranchi that sees a lot of movement. Living and working around the 834004 area means you get used to the sound of buses pulling in and out from the stand all day long. We started this place because people needed a spot to grab things while they were waiting for their next ride. It's not a huge space, but we cram a lot of different items onto the wooden shelves we built ourselves years ago. You’ll find things like soap, snacks, and those little daily necessities that everyone forgets to buy until they're actually out of them at home. Sometimes the rain in Ranchi makes the ground outside all muddy, and people crowd inside our doorway to stay dry while the bus is delayed. We don't mind it, as it gives us someone to talk to for a bit during the day. The shop doesn't have a fancy sign or bright neon lights, just the name painted simply on the front. We open up early, usually before the first bus arrives at the Dhurwa stand, and stay until things settle down in the evening. It’s a bit of a grind, but seeing the regular faces makes it okay. Most people are in a hurry, so we try to be quick with the change and the bagging. There’s no big philosophy behind what we do, we just keep the shop going for the community.
