Soni General Store

Soni General Store is located at the Sector 4 Chowk in Dhurwa, Ranchi. We are quite close to the Cricket Stadium, so when there is a big match, the whole area gets incredibly crowded. On those days, we sell a lot of water and chips. On regular days, it is much quieter, and we mostly see the local residents from the nearby quarters. We have been at this chowk for a long time. Our shop has all the essentials, like cooking ingredients, soaps, and some stationary items for the school children. The interior is simple, with metal racks and some items hanging from the ceiling to save space. We don't have any fancy signs or big displays. It’s just the name above the door and the goods inside. We usually start the day by cleaning the front area and checking the milk delivery. Ranchi can get quite cold in the winter mornings, so we keep a small heater behind the counter sometimes. People come here not just to buy things but to ask about what's happening in the neighborhood. We know which family likes which brand of flour. It is just a regular way of living, running a shop and making sure the inventory is okay. We don't do any big promotions. If you are near the stadium or the chowk, you will see us there.
