You can find us over in the Coke Oven Colony in Durgapur. Being in a steel city like this means there is always a layer of grit on things, and the air always feels busy with industrial work. Our office is right in the middle of that atmosphere. It is a colony house that we have turned into a workspace for Simplex Infrastructures Limited. We have been here for quite some time, and the rhythm of the ovens and the trains is just background noise to us now. Inside, the office is pretty lived-in. We have stacks of files from old projects and blue prints for new ones lying around. It is not a place that was designed by an architect to look pretty. It was built to be used. We spend our mornings checking on the crews and our afternoons filing reports. There is no corporate polish here. We talk plainly and expect the same from everyone else. The West Bengal heat can be tough, but we have our fans going and plenty of water. Most of us have been working in this industry for years, so we don't need a lot of direction. We just know what the job is and we go do it. If you walk through the colony, you’ll see our sign. It is a no-nonsense kind of place for people who aren't afraid of a little hard work.
