Silas Rani Foundation

This place is run by Shilas Hembram over in Mahuli Gaipathar. It’s a small area in Amrapara, Pakur. His father, Gabriel Hembram, was well known around here before he passed. We carry on that name with the Silas Rani Foundation. The location is 816117 if you’re looking on a map. It’s a very local thing. We don't have fancy desks or a receptionist. Usually, you just walk up to the house and see who is around. Being out in Pakur means things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We deal with whatever the local folks need help with. It might be some help with a farm issue or something about the village roads. We don't really have a big staff list. It’s mostly family and a few friends from the neighborhood. Shilas keeps the records and makes sure we are doing what we said we would. The air is clean out here in Mahuli and we like it that way. We aren't some big NGO from Delhi. We are just people who live here and want to see the place do okay. If you’re passing through Amrapara, you’ll likely see us or someone who knows where we stay. It’s a humble setup but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and do the daily tasks. We take Sundays off to be with our families. There’s always wood to chop or water to carry, so we stay busy enough without looking for extra work.
