Satyendra Store

Satyendra Store is right at the corner of Purani Argora Chowk in Ranchi. It has been our family’s main work for many years now. Ranchi is growing very fast these days, but this part of the city around Argora Chowk still feels like the old neighborhood. We keep the usual things people need every day, like grains, soaps, and the snacks that the kids always ask for. Usually, our morning starts very early with people coming in to get milk and the daily newspaper. It gets a bit loud and chaotic when the school buses and rickshaws pass by the front door. We don't have a big team of workers, it is just a couple of us making sure the bags are packed correctly and the change is right. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon and we have to use handheld fans, but the customers are used to it. They mostly just want to get their groceries and have a quick chat about the weather or the local news. We try to keep the shelves tidy, but things often get moved around during the busy hours. The floor gets dusty because we are right on the main road, so someone is always sweeping. We know most of the people who walk in by their names. It is a simple setup without any fancy scanners or computers. We just use a pen and a notebook to keep track of things.
